MASTER CLOSET MAKEOVER

Hi friends! I know – it’s been a while! I hope everyone is staying safe out there.

I finally got back to posting on my blog because I wanted to share my closet organizational makeover with you! This was actually something I worked on before the Covid19 lockdown. It’s something I’ve been wanting to do and I feel so fortunate I found Amanda of Ever So Organized who helped me pull it all together. Ever since having Jordan, I’ve neglected my space so it’s nice to finally be able to see my clothes and not feel so stressed out whenever I enter my closet.

2 piece set from Morning Lavender

The huge master closet was a huge selling point when we bought our house 3 years ago. The previous owners had actually converted a small bedroom into this closet. The closet also came with the Elfa system from The Container Store. Because we had so much space, we would just put clothes wherever. It was easy to become messy as you can see with the before photo below. After trying many Marie Kondos myself, I decided it was worth it to seek help of a professional. I met Amanda at our cafe and she was so friendly and confident she could help so we scheduled a session.

Amanda and her assistant came over and basically the first thing they did was take everything OUT OF my closet. Most of it went into my master bedroom. I was tasked with telling them what items I did not want/need and they would take care of the rest. Music to my ears! Jason was equally excited because all he had to do was say “yes or no” haha. He also unwillingly gave up more closet space so I could achieve better organization – thanks hubs! Amanda had a lot of great ideas of how to organize my items including dividers for all of my clutches, a cute wall for my hats and taking all of my shoes out of their boxes. I am so happy with the final result and I am happy to say I didn’t have to buy a lot of new stuff to get organized.

The biggest purchases I made were my new handbag & shoe shelves which are actually IKEA Billy Bookcases with glass doors so they are relatively inexpensive. I love now having my shoes all in one place (I use to have them in my closet, in the hallway closet, in the guest bedroom and the garage).

I also love my new hat wall that sits right outside of my closet. The hat wall is both decorative and functional. I used command hooks that won’t damage the walls in case I change my mind and want to switch up the decor one day.

And here’s my favorite assistant 🙂
